The recipe for this delicious cake is over 100 years old! Given to me by a family friend who made our wedding cake, Mrs. Peggy was known for making the finest pound cakes around town and always the first dessert to go at the church socials! I've developed my own version over the years and am happy to share this treasured dessert with you! The buttery flavor with a subtle hint of almond and vanilla as well as the crunchy, flaky crust and tender crumb is out of this world! Served with fresh fruit and whipped cream or ice cream, or just plain, the possibilities are endless!
